Ryan, Drewniak, & Upshaw, P.A. is uniquely able to provide legal representation for members of the military services when faced with criminal proceedings or administrative discharge proceedings as the result of their military service. This aspect of legal practice is very specialized and it is important to have someone who possesses the experience and knowledge to maneuver through the obstacles that a military service member faces when charged with misconduct by their command.

Christopher Drewniak has over 20 years of practice in this area. He is currently a member of National Institute of Military Justice, which focuses on the current events and groundbreaking issues in military justice. As a former officer and Judge Advocate in the United States Marine Corps, he has represented hundreds of Marines, sailors, soldiers, and airmen in general courts-martial, special courts-martial, Article 15 proceedings (NJP and Captain’s Mast) and administrative discharge proceedings based upon allegations of misconduct. These proceedings have included allegations of rape, sexual assault, child abuse, assault, theft, embezzlement, drug offenses (including the contesting of urinalysis results) unauthorized absences, dereliction of duty, midshipmen misconduct and many others.

Being in close proximity to a number of military installations around the Washington, D.C. area, including Fort Meade, the United States Naval Academy, Andrews Air Force Base, Marine Corps Base at Quantico, the Coast Guard Station at Curtis Bay, and the Washington Navy Yard provides us with the opportunity to vigorously defend any military service member charged with a criminal offense or facing discharge.
